2022 – 2023
Through my work with Fotofilia, light flowed through me and channeled itself into fractals, updating my internal narrative.
I began experimenting with origami and photography to give physicality to images. This exploration aims to reflect on how light interacts with matter:
- How many facets can a single image reveal when fragmented?
- How does a fold alter the way an image is represented?
- Can an image transcend its two-dimensional nature to inhabit the third dimension?
- How do the concepts and intentions behind an image evolve and transform as it shifts dimensions?
This process invites a deeper understanding of the interplay between form, light, and perception, pushing the boundaries of how we create and experience imagery.
Photo-Zines: Fractals of Light
These photo-zines capture the fractals of light’s behavior in plants, sparking reflection on how light influences matter. Each “weave” symbolizes DNA as an intricate lattice and the journey of light traveling in all directions.
This process generates fractals and emits frequencies that our brain interprets as pre-conceived shapes and colors. The work invites viewers to explore the dynamic relationship between light, matter, and perception, unveiling the hidden connections between natural patterns and our internal worlds.
