Can a walk reconnect you with the depths of the cloud forest?
On March 31, 2024, Paola Moscoso and Monica Aguilar launched a collaboration to bridge the connection with the sounds and reflections of the forest through a walk that combines deep listening and observation for the participants.
Along the way, Paola guided the group to perceive the various sounds of birds, trees, rivers, and other inhabitants of the El Pahuma reserve in northwestern Quito. Meanwhile, Mónica spoke about the importance of staying present, the power of focus, and the role of water in our lives as part of the planet’s habitat.
The walk took us to two of the reserve’s waterfalls, where participants could recharge and take photographs in full presence.
Toward the end, before the “pambamesa” (a communitary meal), Monica guided each person in discovering the forest’s message for their lives through the images they captured.
